I will be there!

@julian@activitypub.space I don't know if I'll be able to go, depending on location, but I just filled out the interest form. Maybe the closest I've come to what I imagine that experience to be is attending the first kotlinconf. It was awesome feeling like part of a small but passionate community rallying around a technology that solved a lot of problems. I'm going to dive into a lot of the fediverse content thats out there in the meantime. I hope that people have sustained enthusiasm and there is enough critical mass across the board for this to keep growing. I didn't realize how pessimistic I had become living with a foreboding doom as an android developer and the state of the internet until I started to realize I might be able to do something about it.

@julian@activitypub.space also, one really cool effect of federated forums is that by you tagging with a different domain, I just discovered another pile of fediverse material at @activitypub.space. Awesome! I really like the way this naturally organizes if people limit the scope of their forums to cohesive topics. I'm curious also about regional boards / organizing by region rather than topical, like something to compete with nextdoor. I believe that hyperlocal is something that fediverse could be a big champion of.
