I think you nailed it. Thats exactly where we are. I appreciate the cautious optimism that Doctorow has for antitrust new legislation and I do not believe the US will be leading the way on this stuff at least not until the horses are well out of the gates and it becomes apparent that we cannot stop antitrust entirely. Then we will get involved and probably corrupt it until the next cycle of course.

Eventually, the government stepped in and set up regulations and protections for consumers and workers. But not before there was egregious profiteering and tragic exploitation.

That sounds awfully familiar to me.

Right now, we are in a period where the businesses have become monolithic in size and scale, their focus is on growth and acceleration at all costs, and the government is actually removing the guardrails (many of which were antiquated) for consumers.

Like I said, I'm not a historian, but I generally believe that history repeats. Maybe a close study of that period and the things that led to change would reveal ideas for how to affect change in what is essentially a second gilded age.

having a link/qr to something vs not. If you want to change an opinion, maybe no. It seems so strange to me to see something without a hook or a sales pitch, that it would surprise me, if I was paying attention.

if you want to drive traffic to a call to action maybe yes

if yes what would the immediate call to action be?

i got to thinking that focusing on reaching out to gen z would be good. But fliers probably dont affect gen z much? Being an advocate for gen z and framing perspective on gen z might.

i believe in gen z. Theyve rejected all the bullshit. Theyre far less tethered to the past than we are. But they need something that isnt rotten to rally around
